Andy Holding has three selections from this evening's action at Exeter and Ballinrobe.
MORNING HERALD (NAP) (best price 10/11)
threw away a gilt-edged opportunity at Kempton last time with an untimely last flight blunder, but she appears to have been handed a golden chance to put matters right in this much weaker-looking contest. Travelling like much the best horse at the Surrey venue two weeks ago, she seemed to have the race at her mercy when she just took her eye off the ball and unable to regain her equilibrium in time to counterpunch the late thrust of Surtee Du Berlais, Martin Keighley’s charge had to settle for an honourable second. Prior to that unlucky incident, the daughter of Lucky Story had scored with a bit to spare at Ludlow under similar conditions as tonight, and with her main market rival, Avispa, not looking the most trustworthy of performers in recent times, the way looks clear for her to get back on track.

EASILY PLEASED (best price 15/2)
is the kind of horse that does need the cards to fall just right, but given a strongly run race on decent ground, Martin Hill’s charge always has to be a consideration – particularly when he’s available to back from an each-way perspective. A strong-traveller through his races, the son of Beneficial has a fairly poor win-to-run ratio for a one of his talents, but he often comes good at this time of year and based on his latest effort at Taunton, the 10-year-old could be about to strike. Although he was probably playing second fiddle to Carringmorna King when unseating rider at the last at the West Country venue, that performance was much more promising than his previous two displays and with the ground and tonight’s track also in his favour, a prominent show looks on the cards.

WESTERNER POINT (best price 11/2)
has posted some big numbers in victory and defeat in recent times and with his aggressive run-style likely to be seen to good effect around this tight track, Eoghan O’Grady’s inmate is fancied push the rest of the field to the limit. Although he failed to follow up his previous victory at Fairyhouse last time out, there’s no disgrace in finishing runner-up to Solita, who is a very good mare on her day, and a repeat of that similar level of form should see the son of Westerner a tough nut to crack.
