Andy Holding has FIVE bets on a bumper Saturday of racing action around the country.
DOLPHIN VISTA (best price 5-1)
is a thoroughly likeable individual and he looks set to continue his progression at a track that should play into his strengths. The son of Zoffany began the season in the best possible fashion with a convincing success at on a testing surface at Ripon and even though he failed in his bid follow up next time out at Newmarket, finishing second to the classy Folkswood in fast time could hardly be described as a backward step. Back on track when returning to the Yorkshire venue on his most recent outing, Richard Fahey’s charge produced another smart effort on the numbers, and with his form figures over a mile on soft ground reading 1212, the forecast rain in the Esher area will greatly enhance his chances.

REFLEKTOR (best price 9-4)
has performed to a decent level in his three races so far this season and he looks set to continue the good work from his favoured inside draw. A winner over the minimum trip at Thirsk two starts ago, Tom Dascombe’s charge did very little wrong in his bid to follow up over today’s course last time out and providing the son of Bahamian Bounty can hold his position on the curb in the mad dash to the first corner, it’s hard to see him not having a huge say in the final outcome.

Six of Jim Bolger’s last ten runners have made their way into the winner’s enclosure and returning to the scene of her authoritative C&D victory last time out, CEOL NA NOG (NAP) (best price 6-4)
rates a strong bet to keep those impressive stats intact. Like many before her so far this season, once the daughter of Teofilo found her way onto the golden highway on the far side rail at the Co Kildare circuit, she never looked like getting pegged back, and given that she was very strong in the latter stages of that 1m 2f contest, today’s step up in trip should bring about enough improvement for her to offset her 9lb rise in the weights.

A competitive looking heat, but the two that stand out given their recent exploits are FIGHTING DAYS (best price 10-3)
and FLAVIANA (best price 7-1)
. The former represents a yard which have a hit a purple patch in the last few weeks and Francis Flood’s charge was one of several winners for the Co Wicklow handler in that period courtesy of his emphatic victory at Down Royal 15 days ago. In landing his second career success, the son of Artan posted his best set of speed figures, and if he can run to a similar level for the second time in a fortnight, the six-year-old should be hard to beat off just a 5lb higher mark. The latter also clocked a decent time when scoring at Kilbeggan two starts ago and she might have well added to that victory if she’d been able to avoid mishap at the second last in a similar contest at Ballinrobe last time. Noted travelling strongly just in behind the speed, the daughter of Flemensfirth got brought down when Do Na Paisti crumpled to the ground directly in her path, and providing she hasn’t suffered any lasting mental damage from that nasty tumble, Jessica Harrington’s charge has every chance of getting back on track.

FLAVIANA - 1pt @ 7/1Lost -1pt
SWEET LITTLE LIES (best price 8-1)
has yet to win a race, but on the evidence of her last two starts, there’s more than a fair chance she can capture that breakthrough victory sooner rather than later. The daughter of High Chaparral first gave out signals that she had enough ability to be successful when a creditable fourth behind the in-form Oisin James at Tramore two starts ago and it was encouraging to see her back up that performance with another positive display at Sligo last time out. Although she failed to better her finishing position at the Connaught venue, that mares’ handicap won by Isabella Liberty was a decent race on the numbers for the grade and a repeat of that level of form should be good enough to see James Feane’s inmate somewhere on the premises this evening.
