RacingUK's Tom Stanley gives us his insight to Thursday's racing at Newmarket.
Henry Candy has, by his own admission, had a tough year to date as far as winners on the board go but Group 1 success at Royal Ascot was a sign of the tide turning. He saddles Bounce in a very open handicap at Newmarket but her 10/1 odds are just about worth taking. She ran into the race-fit Taneen at Leicester last time and the handicapper has duly had his say but Bounce will likely have needed that and, as mentioned, the yard were not exactly in top form. She travelled well that day before finding little but expect better on this 2nd start of the season. I like her draw too as the principle pace is drawn low, for all they tend to hang off the the stands side rail here as the race develops. Also worth a play is A Momentofmadness for the trainer who won this last year. This 3 year old has really come into his own this year and is 2 from 2 in a hood. Up in trip, I hope he doesn’t race too close to the pace given there is plenty of it in and around him and getting home could be a struggle. The hood should help with that though and, for a horse seeking a 3rd win in 3, he’s a healthy price at 18/1.
