We look at this morning's best-backed horses
The best-backed horse of the day so far is Aidan O'Brien's INTELLIGENCE CROSS in the the Richmond Stakes at Goodwood.
Beaten 1/2l by Mehmas, who re opposes today, on his latest outing in the Group 2 Arqana July Stakes at Newmarket over 6f (good to firm) earlier this month, the son of War Front enjoys a 3lb pull at the weights.
Punters obviously believe further progress is distinctly possible and that the son of War Front can turn that form around. As big as 9/2 last night, he's now into as short as 2/1 in places.
Also well supported this morning is Andy Holding's NAP, LORELINA at Epsom.
According to Andy; "the daughter of Passing Glance has proven track form with a win around the Surrey track on debut and having acted on a variety of underfoot conditions, she should be able to cope with whatever the elements throw at her."
It looks like the market agrees as the Andrew Balding 3yo is now as short as 3/1 from 7/1 yesterday evening.
20.20 Ffos Las
Also this evening, there has been support for CHAMPAGNE CHAMP in the 2m handicap at Ffos Las.
Successful twice at 1m 4f on good to soft and heavy ground, the Rod Milman trained 4yo finished fifth of 8 at 9-2 on his latest outing at Sandown over 1m 6f (good to soft) earlier this month.
The market expects him to step up on that effort with 11/4 the shortest price on offer from an overnight show of 13/2.
Another of Aidan O'Brien's 2yos has seen significant support at Goodwood this afternoon in the shape of RHODODENDRON.
Beaten 2 1/4l when second of 13 at 7-1 on her racecourse debut at Curragh over 7f (good) last month, this very well bred filly looks the usual type to improve from her experience for the all conquering Coolmore team.
5/2 with some firms last night, she's now odds-on in places
