It's Big Brother final night and Tim Booth is on hand with the best betting advice in the business.
Sixth Place (known as Next Eviction with some firms) looks like a straight up fight between Danniella Westbrook and John Partridge. The market has Danniella as the slight odds-on favourite, which is based on her not doing particularly well in the last few evictions. But she seems to have a following online, and John has been coming across badly over the last few days. He received another grumpy edit last night, so it could be worth a small bet on him to be out next at around evens or so.
Regardless of the market moving all over the place, my view is that Tiffany is extremely likely to take the crown tonight. She has been the star of the show, voted the most entertaining by the viewers and is by far the most hilarious housemate. The biggest and best moment of the series was undoubtedly when she made the mistake of thinking David Gest had died. It will go down in Reality TV history as an absolute classic. With her zero-to-hero narrative, Tiffany has made the biggest impression on the viewers and, perhaps quite crucially, she would arguably be the most deserving winner. At a best-priced 6/5, it is worth anyone not on the Tiffany train already to get on board.
It therefore looks like a straight fight between Scotty T and Stephanie. The market gives more chance for Scotty T to do better at the moment, with him a best-priced 6/4 to win. My view series-long has been that he is unlikely to win, as he doesn’t seem to possess the right character traits. He has not been particularly entertaining and hasn’t had many memorable moments. This is in addition to having little emotional connection and not much of a storyline. So in that respect, he would not be a deserving winner. Yet the market seems absolutely terrified that his teen girl fanbase will win it for him. Charlotte and Vicky captured the public’s hearts during their shows, but Scotty has arguably not done the same in this series. If anything, I think he’s made a negative impression, and there doesn’t seem to be much about him other than wanting to sleep with as many women as possible. Will this go down well with female voters?
If there’s to be a surprise tonight, it could well involve Stephanie. In stark contrast to Scotty T, she has made a huge impression with her vulnerability and having been on a massive journey. Her romance with Jeremy has hogged the airtime this series, and this shouldn’t be underestimated. This kind of marmite character tends to do well in a vote-to-win situation.
The last two runners up, Austin Armacost and Katie Hopkins, were similarly divisive but also had an awful lot of support. Stephanie seems very much from the same mould, and has had serious momentum in the outright over the last week. She topped the vote on Tuesday night, at a convenient time, just before the vote-to-win opened. The fact that producers revealed this so close to the final will only spur on her supporters to carry on voting for her. Last night’s highlights show was dominated by Steph at a very crucial time. She does seem to have momentum right now, so her chances to do well in the final have to be respected. If you’re already on Tiff for the win and feel like you need a cover, it should almost certainly be on Steph. Otherwise, I think she has a solid chance of finishing in second place.
