Denver Broncos at San Diego Chargers – Friday 01:25, SS1

We’re now into week six of the NFL season and in week five the Denver Broncos lost their first match of the year, going down 23-16 at home to the Atlanta Falcons. They travel to a more familiar opponent on Thursday night as they head down to California and their AFC West rivals the San Diego Chargers.

The Chargers must be wondering how they have only won one match so far this season, in week one they were leading by 21 points in the second half and lost, in week three they fumbled twice in the last two minutes and lost 26-22, the week after that they were 13 points ahead with five minutes to play and last week they had a chance to tie the match against the Raiders with two minutes left and mishandled the field goal snap!

The Broncos will be playing this match without their head coach Gary Kubiak after he suffered a severe migraine after last week’s home loss to Atlanta. Kubiak has had health issues before so is missing the one week so Special Teams co-ordinator Joe DeCamillis will take charge of this one.

It’s a bit of an unknown how much that will affect the game but what will certainly affect the game is the return of Broncos quarterback Trevor Siemian, his replacement Paxton Lynch was sacked six times last week and struggled a lot. Denver’s defense is elite and even in defeat last week kept the impressive Falcons offense to just 23 points. Broncos should bounce back here but expect it to be close and a winning margin of 1-6 points is our pick.
