One of the NFL's oldest rivals is renewed on Thursday night as Chicago Bears travel to Green Bay.
Chicago Bears at Green Bay Packers – Friday 01:25, Sky Sports 1
The NFL’s first live game on Sky Sports this week is also one of the sport’s oldest rivalries as the Chicago Bears take a short flight to Green Bay to face the Packers. These two face each other twice a year as NFC North divisional rivals and it’s also historically the most played NFL match with close to 200 meetings to date.
As for this season both teams aren’t setting the NFL world alight even if the Packers do have a winning record of 3-2 so far. Quarterback Aaron Rodgers just doesn’t look the player of old right now and last week he and the team were booed off at home in a 30-16 loss to the Dallas Cowboys. He hasn’t thrown for over 300 yards all season and running back Eddie Lacy playing with an injury has seen them struggle offensively.
Chicago have won just once this season and somehow failed to make that two last week as they threw away a 13-0 fourth quarter lead at home to Jacksonville who are hardly world beaters themselves. The Bears won the corresponding game last year as 8.5 point underdogs and we don’t expect many points on Thursday night so taking them +10 or under the total match points would be our choice in this game.
