Jacksonville could find it difficult to rack up a big score in Thursday night's NFL clash.
Jacksonville Jaguars at Tennessee Titans – Friday 01:25, Sky Sports 1
Another six live games for UK based NFL fans this week and the action gets underway in Tennessee on Thursday night as annual visitors to London the Jacksonville Jaguars visit divisional rival’s the Tennessee Titans. The AFC South has been so poor this year that despite these two teams having losing records coming into this game, both will still harbour ambitions of making the playoffs which makes this game much more important than it perhaps looks at first glance.
Many in the NFL media expected the Jaguars to be much more competitive this time round after some expensive free agent signings and good drafting, plus the expectation that quarterback Blake Bortles would progress forward in this his third year. Unfortunately this hasn’t materialised and there is noise about potentially replacing Bortles if he continues to struggle.
The Titans own second year quarterback Marcus Mariota is faring much better than his counterpart, throwing at least two touchdowns a game in the last four weeks. However, it’s Tennessee’s running game that has impressed most as they sit second in the NFL for total rushing yards. The Titans can take time off the clock by running the ball, while their defence is capable of opposing Jacksonville’s running game so under 20.5 points for the Jags looks a worthwhile shout.
