Minnesota Vikings at Chicago Bears – Tuesday 00:30, Sky Sports 1

Monday night football in Chicago rounds off week eight in the NFL as the Bears host fellow NFC North rivals the Minnesota Vikings. Both these sides lost last week but while the 26-10 defeat to the Packers was the sixth loss in seven matches for the Bears, a 21-10 loss to the Eagles in Philadelphia was the Vikings first defeat all year, so they’re certainly still the form side.

The Bears offence has been led by back-up quarterback Brian Hoyer in recent weeks and the injury he received last week would have proved catastrophic in normal circumstances but as it so happens first choice QB Jay Cutler will return on Monday night having missed the previous five weeks.

The Vikings have their own problems on offence, quarterback Sam Bradford was sacked six times last week, but the defence is stellar and they could make it a tough return to action for Cutler. If they fall behind early though it would be interesting to see if the offence is capable of turning it around, rather than relying on the defence winning matches as has been the case to date.

This looks about as tough as it gets for Cutler’s return and it’s not as if he was playing very well before his injury, so back the Vikings to cover the -4.5 handicap.
