If any team can shock the Patriots, it's the Seahawks who should be backed on the spread.
Seattle Seahawks at New England Patriots – Monday 01:30, Sky Sports 1
On Sunday night, the two teams currently topping the betting for the Superbowl meet in Massachusetts as the New England Patriots entertain the Seattle Seahawks. New England are strong favourites to win this game, with most pundits rating them as the best team in football heading into the second half of the season. Quarterback Tom Brady has looked invincible since his return from suspension: his QB rating of 119.0 is the highest in the league, and he and the Pats offence are averaging over 30 points per game.
However, Brady will have to work harder against Seattle than he’s done in previous weeks. The Seahawks’ defence, nicknamed the ‘Legion of Boom’, has a habit of shutting down offenses of all shapes and sizes. That being said, Seattle QB Russell Wilson has been hampered by injury of late and the offence he commands have struggled to score: their 20.2 average points per game is the 10th lowest in the league, so it is hard to see the Seahawks putting up big numbers against a New England outfit undefeated at home this season.
An intriguing match in prospect and despite how good Tom Brady has looked, if any team can shock the Patriots at home then it is Seattle. Keep them Hawks onside with a +7.5 advantage.
