Oakland Raiders at Houston Texans – Tuesday 01:30, SS1

Monday Night Football comes from Mexico City this week where the Oakland Raiders will do battle with the Houston Texans. Mexico loves the NFL and in the 90s the three matches played there saw over 100,000 people attend each game.

It’s been a great season so far for the Raiders and the win against the Broncos in Week Nine before last week’s bye was their most impressive performance so far. They have a real chance now of making the playoffs for the first time since 2002 when they eventually made the Super Bowl and in quarterback Derek Carr have one of the league’s MVP candidates.

Oakland currently ranks 5th in points scored and 5th in total yards so the offense is definitely the strength of this team. That makes this in intriguing match-up against a Houston defense that ranks 4th in pass defense and 4th in total defense even without the injured JJ Watt. The rushing defense isn’t so strong being ranked 26th so expect Raiders running back Latavius Murray to add to his three touchdowns he scored in the win over Denver.

With this being a road game for both teams the line of 5.5 is probably friendlier for Raiders backers than it should be, they are well rested after a bye whereas Houston had a tough away game against rivals Jacksonville so we are happy to take the -5.
