Green Bay can continue the great record of visiting teams against the spread.
Green Bay Packers at Atlanta Falcons – Sunday 20:05, Sky Sports 1
It took a last-gasp, 51-yard Mason Crosby field goal for the Packers to squeeze past a powerful Dallas Cowboys defence in last weekend’s divisional games, and they now find themselves up against the Atlanta Falcons for the NFC Championship. The Falcons edged home 33-32 when these two met earlier this season, but with the Packers on an eight-game win streak, this is set to be a tight, high-scoring game.
Both starting quarterbacks are in the running for MVP honours. Aaron Rodgers threw 15 touchdowns and didn’t turn the ball over once as the Packers won the last six games of the regular season, and his career 118 passer rating in five career games against the Falcons suggests that Cheeseheads have reason to be optimistic. That being said, Falcons QB Matt Ryan is having an incredible season: he’s set franchise records this term in passing yards, touchdowns, completion percentage and passer rating. Since their meeting earlier this season, the Packers have averaged 30.2 points per game and the Falcons have averaged 34.9 points per game – this could be a high-scoring encounter.
This will be a very close match, but what’s caught our eye is the spread market. The visiting team is 10-1 against the spread in the last 11 match-ups between these two teams and the Packers are 7-1 against the spread in their last eight road playoff games, so we’ll back the visitors against the spread.Bet £10 Get £20
