Circuit of the Americas Track Info
- The Circuit of the Americas is the first purpose-built Formula One track in the United States. German architect Hermann Tilke designed the 5.5km circuit to follow his tracks in Malaysia, China, Abu Dhabi, Turkey, Bahrain, South Korea and India.
- The 20-turn track broke ground in January 2011 and is scheduled to be completed by the time of the United States Grand Prix in November 2012.

- The United States Grand Prix was resurrected for the 21st century in Indianapolis in 2000, but it was a testing eight
years that followed, exemplified by the 2005 race when only six of 20 cars started due to tyre issues with Michelin - whose
14 cars retired after the parade lap due to safety concerns.
