The horse or team with the lowest odds (in essence, the horse or team believed to be the most likely winner).

Five-Fold Multi (Accumulator)

A five-fold Multi consists of one bet involving five selections in different events.

Fixed Odds

Odds available at a specific price quoted by a bookmaker. These odds may change over time but the odds quoted when you place the bet are secure and do not change. Note that the actual returns may not always reflect the full value of the odds due to exceptions like the Rule 4 and dead heat rules.


When preceded by a number, a fold indicates the number of selections in an Mulit. An 8-fold would be an multi with eight selections, all of which must win for the wager to be successful.

Four-Fold Multi (Accumulator)

A four-fold multi (or quad) consists of one bet involving four selections in different events.


All noted runners in an event, or alternatively all unnamed runners. A bet of Shergar v the field would give you all other runners except Shergar.


A forecast (also known as an exacta) is a bet in which first and second is predicted. A straight forecast is one bet predicting first and second in the correct order, while a reverse forecast is two bets of two selections to finish first and second in any order. A dual forecast (also quinella) is one bet of two selections to finish first and second in any order.
