Outsider being backed for AFL glory following weekend rout
It’s crunch time in the AFL season as we enter the Finals Series
A Marcus Bontempelli inspired Western Bulldogs stormed into the finals after a massive 34-point win against the Crows. The victory in Ballarat has set up a showdown with Greater Western Sydney in the eliminator next Saturday.
That emphatic win has resonated with AFL punters in Australia, as despite being $15 to win the flag the Bulldogs have been the most backed team in the Grand Final market. A staggering 30% of all bets in the market have been on Luke Beveridge’s team.
The Bulldogs are $1.8 to beat GWS, but remain among the outsiders for Premiership glory.
Richmond go into the finals as $3.4 favourites, and are very much the form team heading into the weekend following a 27-point win against Brisbane Lions. The Tigers will be facing Brisbane again on Saturday, and are $1.68 to score another victory.
Patrick Dangerfield remains favourite for the Brownlow, but Lachie Neale and Nat Fyfe are hot on his toes. Dangerfield is $3.5, Fyfe $5 and Neale $9.
