Manchester United now more likely to be relegated than win the Premier League
Bookmakers fear the worst for the Red Devils
It’s not too long ago since Manchester United dominated English and even European football, but those times are well and truly over. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is under immense pressure following his team's woeful start to the season.
United are currently 10th in the Premier League with just seven points from their opening nine games. This puts the Red Devils a remarkable eleven points behind league leaders, and bitter rivals Liverpool.
Bookmakers have been quick to react to United’s sluggish start, and put them a massive $251 to win the league, the same price as high-flying Leicester. United fans won’t be too worried by that price, as even the most loyal supporters didn’t expect them to win the league this season. However, they will be concerned that one bookmaker has Manchester United as $201 to be relegated from the Premier league.
It would take a remarkable season to see the former Premier League champions be relegated, but we’ve seen much stranger things happen in English football in recent years.
Solskjaer takes his team up to Newcastle this weekend desperate for a win. Bookmakers have the Manchester club at $1.85 to take all three points.
