Washington Redskins @ Dallas Cowboys
The loser of this game is almost certain to miss the play-offs so it’s a big night for both camps. Dallas won the reverse fixture 33-19 earlier this year but they arrive in poor form having lost three in a row since star man Ezekiel Elliott’s suspension.
The Redskins won in New York last week and played well in a narrow defeat the week before in New Orleans, where the Saints have been in great form. Before that was a narrow defeat against the Vikings and then a win at the Seahawks – two teams firmly heading towards the playoffs. So their performances would arguably have produced a couple of extra wins but for a tough fixture list and with Elliott still out we fancy a Redskins win.
Best Bet: Redskins Win at 1.8
Minnesota Vikings @ Atlanta Falcons
The Falcons have picked up of late and are now on a three-game winning streak, averaging nearly 32 points in those games, but two of those were against the struggling Cowboys and Buccaneers. The Vikings however, have won an impressive seven games on the bounce and back-up quarterback Case Keenum is playing like a seasoned pro. That includes four straight wins on the road, and in what looks like a close game it’s handy to have the points onside, so we’ll back the in-form Vikings on the handicap.
Best Bet: Vikings +3 Points at 1.91
Carolina Panthers @ New Orleans Saints
The Saints seven game winning streak came to an end last week with a 26-20 defeat at the LA Rams. They now host a Panthers side that have their own winning streak going as the team from Carolina made it four in a row against the Jets.
New Orleans triumphed 34-13 in the reverse fixture earlier this season and indeed hold a 4-1 record against the Panthers on the handicap over the last five meetings and we expect that record to continue here.
Best Bet: Saints -4.5 Points at 1.97
Philadelphia Eagles @ Seattle Seahawks
The Eagles have won nine games in a row as they sit at the top of the NFC and are the only team to have scored at least 20 points in every game this season. However, six of these games came at home and in their three away wins, two were by five points or fewer, while their only defeat this season came on their travels. Their record is also flattered by being in the weak NFC East division.
The Seahawks have a very good record in what they call prime time TV matches and they’ve won the last three meetings between these two teams. Odds of 2/1 or bigger at home look too big to ignore for the Seahawks.
Best Bet: Seahawks Win at 3.2
Pittsburgh Steelers @ Cincinnati Bengals
The Steelers are amidst a six-game winning streak as their offence has started to blossom with over 70 points in their last two outings. However, those were both at home and one was still just a three-point win against the struggling Packers (5-6), while they also failed to cover the 5.5 handicap at the Colts (3-8) and Lions (6-5) prior to that. The Bengals meanwhile, have won two in a row and are on a three-game streak at home. They lost 0-20 to the Ravens in their opening game at the Paul Brown Stadium but have conceded no more than 23 points in the four games since and so we think they can keep it close against Pittsburgh.
Best Bet: Bengals +5.5 Points at 1.91
