Hawthorn v Sydney
Friday night’s don’t come much better than this, two teams go head-to-head, both of whom are no strangers to finals footy, and who are also among the front runners for the flag this season. Hawks enter the game at $5 for the flag after their win over Fremantle in round 8, whereas Sydney have moved out to $7 to be champions after a shock loss to the Tigers.
The Swans will be wounded by the manner of their Round 8 loss, but will still be dangerous as they host one the best attacking units in the comp. The Swans come into the game at $2.4 which looks overs to me, mainly due to Franklin, Hannebery, Kennedy and Parker being in vintage form.
Hawks have relied heavily on the Sam Mitchell in the midfield this season and will find it tough going against Sydney. They can trouble Sydney’s back six but I don’t think Gunston, Bruest and Puopolo match-up to the Swans forwards. Speaking of Swans forwards, Franklin returns to his old club again, since switching cities Buddy hasn’t always had the best of times playing against the Hawks. He couldn’t be playing better footy at the moment, and I expect him to have a huge impact tonight.
I’m taking on the bookies tonight, not a chance Sydney should be the price they’re. The odds will come in as we get closer to the bounce, so lap up the $2.4 on offer as soon as possible.
Josh Kennedy was missed last time out against Richmond, he’s back in the Sydney midfield tonight and will look to build on the 29.7 disposal average this season. The Sydney freak had 40 disposals in round 7, get on him to have the most on Friday night at $5.
