Sydney Swans v Melbourne Demons
Melbourne have been a shock package this season, but are they in a position where they can trouble one of the best teams in the league away from home? Simply, no. Sydney are a top quality outfit, many pundits suggest the Demons are capable of mixing it in the midfield with the Swans, but I disagree. This Sydney midfield is special, expect them to outplay Melbourne today.
The Swans have won all five games at home, and have won them pretty easy. Hogan’s a gun and will be able to mix it with the best in years to come, unfortunately I don’t think he’s as good as Franklin yet.
Sydney will be dangerous after they were wounded by GWS, they’ll be out to prove they’re capable of challenging for the flag, expect them to win and quite easily, back them to by 25+ at $1.96. Luke Parkers form has drifted a little bit of late, he had a cracking start to the season. He may get a little bit ignored today with all the guns playing in the midfield, but he’s my pick to have 30+ disposals, good value at $2.6.
Essendon Bombers v Greater Western Sydney
This could be embarrassing for the Bombers, they look tired already with so many games left to play. They’ll be down in the dumps after the mauling they received at the hands of Hawthorn last weekend. Things go bad to worse now they have to play the Giants.
One team come off their worst performance of the season, the other come off their best, the Giants were very impressive beating the Swans last weekend. There isn’t much more to say about this game, Essendon’s defence will just not be able to cope with the Giants, this will be a mauling. Get on GWS to win by 60+ points at $1.79.
Cameron has only kicked two in his last three, after booting twelve his previous two. Expect the Giants forward to have a day out today, he’s well worth backing at $6 to kick six, he’s got that in him.
