ESSENDON V GOLD COAST

It’s a bad sign when you’ve got no chance of getting close to a pretty average team struck by injury. Unfortunately that’s the case for Essendon fans this weekend, their team won’t record their second win this term.

They lost pretty heavily to the Cats last weekend in a game where they were very wasteful in front of the goals. It’s not all sunshine over on the Gold Coast either, they’ve only won one of their last seven interstate games this year. Even though they’ve lost key players to injury the Suns have improved and at least playing pretty exciting footy.

Tom Lynch will be the difference today, he could have a field day. If Essendon had a player like him in their ranks last week they would have push the Cats. With the Coleman Medal in his sights, expect him to tuck in today, get on Lynch 4+ goals at $1.62. Also jump on the Suns winning by 21+ at a rather handsome $2.1.

RICHMOND V GEELONG

Can Richmond spring another surprise? The odds certainly don’t suggest so.

Geelong are $1.18 to win on Sunday, even though I love a bit of a long-shot I’ve not got it in me to call the Tigers winning. However that $1.18 does look quite short given the Cats have slipped up a couple of times already this season when hot faves. Richmond are playing for nothing, so will give the kids a decent run out again. They were pretty impressive in their win against the Pies last weekend. Geelong didn’t really get tested by Essendon last week, and crusied to victory.

I’m really looking forward to the battle between Danger and Martin this weekend. Both are in cracking form and have very good chances of picking up the Brownlow. Expect both of these two to have over 30+ disposals, get on both at $1.33. The Cats to be leading at the end of every quarter at $1.67 looks pretty good value for me.

FREMANTLE V ADELAIDE

Adelaide are set to complete a hat-trick of arse whoopings when they meet Freo on Sunday. They’re coming off 82 and 138 point wins. The Dockers are in contrasting form, they’ve lost their last six and their next win looks quite far away.

Fremantle simply won’t be able to cope with Walker, Betts and Jenkins. These three are one of the main reasons the Crows have won 10 of their last 11 games. Given the momentum they’ve got from the last two weeks I’m backing Adelaide to win by 60+ at $2.75. Eddie Betts will be among the goals as he always is, expect him to quietly go about his business but end up with 4+ goals at ???
