Carlton v Melbourne

Melbourne will be hoping North don’t get up on Saturday, as they’ve got a fairly easy fixture to close the gap on the top 8. Even though Carlton are as short as $3.5 in place I really don’t give them a chance on Sunday.

The Blues have lost nine in a row after they went on a decent run which looked like it could end in a finals position. Their opposition are in fine form, they look to make it four wins on the bounce. Carlton may have Cripps but they’ll struggle to compete with Viney, Jones and Tyson. The trio are in vintage form. The Blues have struggled for goals this season, and unlucky for them this Melbourne team have been relatively tight at the back compared to recent seasons. The lack of potency by Carlton is much needed for the Demons as they’ll see this a percentage booster. Put Melbourne in any multi you’ve got this weekend at $1.29. Nathan Jones to have 30+ disposals has been a pretty successful punt in recent weeks, get on the $1.91 on offer for him to have 30+ again on Sunday.

Brisbane Lions v Geelong

Some pundits reckon Brisbane are a good bet after a decent few weeks, that’s absolute rubbish! The Cats are far too good for the Lions. Brisbane have beaten Essendon and Carlton in recent weeks but you can’t forget their 94 point loss to Port and also 138 point loss to Adelaide. Geelong just got over the line last weekend, and have now won their last five. This isn’t a question of who’ll win, it’s by how many. I’m getting on the $1.83 on offer for Geelong to win by over 60 points. I think the Cats will have it that easy this week it’s worth backing both Danger and Rochliff to have over 30+ disposals, they’re both priced at $1.36. If that’s too short for you, it’s well worth having a sniff at Dangerfield over 35 disposals.

Essendon v Western Bulldogs

The Bulldogs could make it a trio of Sunday mauling’s as they take on Essendon. The Bombers manged to get up and beat the Suns, but even with that win I still think they’re a poor team this year. Any team which struggle to beat Brisbane are in a bad way. The Bulldogs aren’t playing great footy but they keep finding a way to get over the line. However I think Sunday will be different, I expect them to win pretty easy for a change, even with injury worries they’re on a different level to the Bombers.

Get on the Western Bulldogs to win by 40+ at $1.62. Marcus Bontempelli has been in great form in recent weeks and I think he represents value to have 30+ disposals at $2.88.
