St Kilda v Brisbane
St Kilda have won five of their last seven, and look to finish surprisingly high on the ladder. This season will fill them with promise for next campaign especially with all the young talent amongst their squad. Another good sign for St Kilda is that they won ugly last week against a decent outfit, they just managed to get the job done against the Tigers.
It’s been another year to forget for the Lions, they were flogged once again when they took on the Cats last weekend. They’ll be happy the season is coming to an end, but not so happy they have to travel interstate as they have lost eight of the nine this year. The Saints will cruise this, they’re a better team, they are strong at home and the Lions can’t travel. Get on St Kilda to win y 60+ points.
This is a no pressure game for both outfits, therefore I expect to see a high scoring game from these two attacking outfits. Jack Steven has had a stellar year, he’ll finish in style and get over 30+ disposals at $2.25.
Hawthorn v Collingwood
If the Hawks win they’re guaranteed a top four finish, something they know is vital come September. However, even though they’re playing the Pies they’ll need to play a lot better than they did against the Eagles last week. Collingwood have hit a little bit of form coming to the end of the regular season, which was shown in their big win against the Suns.
There will be a ding-dong battle in the midfield as Pendlebury and Treloar, who’ve had great years take on Mitchell and co. Even though the Pies come into the fixture in form, I can’t see them troubling this quality Hawks team. Hawthorn have far too much quality. Expect the likes of Rioli, Gunston, Lewis, Bruest and Mitchell to stand up and ensure they get a top four finish.
I’ve already mentioned Sam Mitchell, even though he won’t really be competing for the Brownlow he had a cracking season. He had a poor game against West Coast but in the five fixture leading into that game he had 35+ disposals on three occasions. Expect him to cruise to another 30+ today at an easy $1.67.
Fremantle v Western Bulldogs
Freo are another team who can’t wait for the season to be over, in truth theirs was over months ago. Yes Fyfe’s injury didn’t help, but that’s not the reason why they’ve been so terrible this season. They’ve lost their last four games by an average margin of 75. Even though those four games were against pretty solid option, the Bulldogs aren’t as good as those teams but will still have far too much for Fremantle.
The Bulldogs play no thrills footy, but it’s been effective, they’ve won their last three and I fully expect them to make that four in a row at $1.39. Bontempelli has pushed his way into Brownlow contention, and I was quite shocked to see $2.88 for him to have 30+ disposals this weekend.
