Hawthorn v Western Bulldogs

Isaac Smith will be kicking himself after missing a chance to get his team over the line against Geelong. Western Bulldogs had a completely different experience, they blew away West Coast Eagle at the Domain. Which I didn’t see coming at all…

Just how good are the Western Bulldogs? I wrote them off against the Eagles, but was it more West Coast playing bad. One thing I’ll give the Bulldogs is they’re gritty and will be right up for this. Luke Beveridge’s team have got a stellar midfield in Dahlhaus, Hunter, Liberator and Daniel. These four were the main reason they found it so easy last week. However, they come up a very classy duo in Mitchell and Lewis, who on their day can match most in the league.

The Hawks have dominated the Bulldogs in recent years, winning the past eight meetings between the two. The confidence that Beveridge’s side got from that victory will get them going in the first half but I think class will pull through in the end. Expect it to be tight but the Hawks to get the job done in the end. Get on at $1.6.

Sam Mitchell is key for Hawthorn, he’s had over 30+ disposals in his last two games. Last time out against the Bulldogs he had 29, but I expect big players to stand out in big games. Well worth getting on to have 30+ on Friday at $1.6.

Jordan Lewis was in fine form against the Cats, he had 36 disposals. He’ll find it much easier going today, along with Mitchell he’s well worth backing to have 30+ at $2.25.
