Port will be desperate to get back to winning form here.
Port Adelaide started the season with a bang by causing an upset in Round 1 against Sydney and vindicating that by belting Fremantle in Round 2, however, the Power have then lost their next two matches and faded away badly in both games meaning a win against Carlton is vital.
Port Adelaide should record a big win and look attractive at the line where they give away 35.5 points or the over 39.5 in the margin betting ($2.20 at Bet 365)
Carlton will be bouyed by the fact they beat Port Adelaide in their one contest last season, which was a two point win at Etihad Stadium in Round 8.
Carlton has never won at the Adelaide Oval and after an impressive upset win against fierce rival Essendon in Round 3, the Blues were disappointing against Gold Coast last week eventually losing by 26 points.
If Carlton is to be competitive they will need a big game from Marc Murphy and Bryce Gibbs.
Murphy has started the year in terrific form, so much so that people have started to talk about him from a Brownlow perspective.
In four Carlton games in 2017, Marc Murphy has had the most Carlton disposals three times, the only time he didn’t was in Round 3 against Essendon when Bryce Gibbs had 35.
Murphy has collected 35, 31, 32 and 28 possessions in each game this year and will again fly the flag for the Blues.
Overall though the Power should win this comfortably, they have too much depth through the midfield and plenty of scoring options up forward.
Carlton has looked vulnerable in most areas this season but their backline is especially fraglle and that is one area that Port will seize the ascendancy.
If you want to look long term Port have a very favourtable draw in the next two months so jump on them now to make the finals ($1.70 Bet365).
Last time these teams played Ollie Wines had 29 disposals and again looks a good bet in disposal markets.
