A cracking Friday night contest in what could be a finals preview.

These teams clash for the first time since the Bulldogs caused one of the biggest finals upsets of all time with a stunning 47 point victory at Domain Stadium in Week One of the Qualifying Finals last year.

That victory would help propel the Bulldogs to their first premiership since 1954, but for the Eagles it would leave them again failing to capitalise on an excellent season.

Despite that loss, West Coast has turned their home turf of Domain Stadium into a fortress in recent years. The Eagles are 3-0 at the ground this season, went 11-2 in 2015 and are 25-3 since Round 5 in 2015.

The other key stat is that the Western Bulldogs are winless in two games outside Victoria this season - they were shock losers to Fremantle in Round 4 and went down in a thriller to GWS a fortnight ago.

West Coast has had their critics so far again this season due to the fact they look like world beaters at Domain Stadium and are horrendous away. They took a big step to proving themselves contenders with an away win over Port Adelaide last week and can vindicate that performance with a win over the reigning premiers.

Another bet we are keen on is the total game score to be under (Total Points Under 173.5 paying $1.91 @ bet365). Last time these teams played the Bulldogs won 99-52 with just 151 total points scored.

The Bulldogs have been an atm machine for unders punters this season with 186, 197, 162, 175, 212 (Against Brisbane) 148 and 155.

We anticipate that this low scoring arm wrestle trend will continue in Friday night footy.

Looking longer term both these teams should again be in the hunt late in the season, the Bulldogs are $7.50 to make it back-to-back premierships (Luxbet) with the Eagles $10 (Unibet, Bet 365, William Hill and Crown).

Andrew Gaff had a game high 35 disposals when these teams last clashed and looks a good bet for the Group A Most Disposals.
