Will the Hawks keep their finals chances alive with a big win?

When the Hawks lose they are awful and when they win they are back in town - that has been the story of Hawthorn in 2017.

They have had some horror defeats this season but kept their campaign alive last week with a gutsy win over Melbourne and are now faced with the prospect of a percentage boosting win against the disappointing Brisbane Lions in Tassie.

Hawthorn is not what they used to be, but they are still a classy side with enough composure and experience to be relied on from a punting point of view.

The two games that the Hawks have won this year they have got off to a strong start which has allowed them to dictate the way the game is played.

This not only greatly increases their chances of winning, it also means that their players are the ones with the footy and therefore rack up plenty of disposals.

Hawthorn has won their last seven games against Brisbane including a 48-point victory when the sides met at the GABBA in Round 10 last season.

After an upset win against Gold Coast in Round 1 things have slowly gone from bad to worse for Brisbane as they have subsequently lost their next five matches by margins of 27, 31, 51, 32, 83 and 54 points.

Brisbane has really struggled defensively this season and this game will be the ideal chance for plenty of the key Hawks to find form.

Hawthorn is a free odds boost for multi bets at the Head-to-Head price and should comfortably record a big victory.

If you anticipate they will again be finals bound you can help yourself to $8 @ Luxbet.

The other bet we like is the Total Game Score to go Over, this should be a free flowing game with Hawthorn expected to score 130 points or more.

The total of 189.5 looks too low.

Cyril Rioli kicked a match winning five goals when these teams last clashed and can have a big influence.
