This game shapes as a mini final in a cut throat contest.

Both these teams have surprised in 2017 and the winner of this will set themselves up nicely for an assault at the finals.

Richmond started the season with a bang winning their first five matches before they came crashing back down to earth with a horrendous performance against Adelaide and a heartbreaking loss to the reigning premiers the Western Bulldogs last Saturday night.

Fremantle looked to be in dire straits after losing their first two games this season in lacklustre fashion, however, the Dockers have hit back hard winning four of their past five games and a win in this fixture will set them up nicely for the season.

The venue of the MCG will surprisingly hold no fears for the Dockers who have a good record at the ground in recent times. Fremantle is undefeated at the MCG this season after they pulled a shock victory over Melbourne and they are 4-2 at the ‘G since 2014.

There is never much between these teams and they have split their past six meetings.

Richmond won comfortably when the sides met in Round 9 last season by 38 points, but that game was at Etihad Stadium where the Dockers are useless.

The Tigers are entitled to start favourite as the game is in Melbourne but Freo certainly represents good value to cause an upset and from a betting perspective we are looking at the Dockers at the Line where they are given 18.5 start (paying $1.92 @ Topbetta).

The other bet that is always nice odds is either team to win by Under 15.5 which also includes the draw option.

The most fascinating battle and one where the game could be won is the match-up between superstars Dustin Martin and Nat Fyfe. Both players have had great seasons and when they play well it can swing a game towards their respective sides.

Fyfe won the Brownlow Medal in 2015 and is $26 at Sportsbet while Martin is $8 to win the game’s highest individual honour at Luxbet and TAB.

Tigers skipper Trent Cotchin had game high 39 disposals when these teams last clashed and he looks a good value play in disposals markets. Have a crack at him to have 30 or More which is $3.75 at Sportsbet.
