Port get the chance to force their way into the top four.

In fact we are making Port Adelaide as the best bet in round 12. Port reminded the footy world that they are a genuine premiership contender last week when they beat Hawthorn by 51 points in a scoreline that totally flattered the Hawks.

Port Adelaide has won four of their past six games at Etihad Stadium and their past two matches against Essendon.

When the teams met last Robbie Gray was brilliant with two goals and a game high 30 possessions.

Gray was one of the few Port Adelaide players who played poorly against Hawthorn last week and will be keen for a big game against the Bombers.

Essendon has been a hard team to catch for punters this season and after being heavily backed to defeat Richmond in the ‘Dreamtime’ match they blew an early lead to lose by 15 points. That was a good effort and the same could be said about their match with GWS last week, however, they fell 16 points short in the end.

Despite the fact the Bombers were competitive against GWS last week, an alarming fact was that none of their ball magnets managed to collect 30 disposals after only David Zaharakis managed to do it the week before against Richmond.

When the Bombers are winning they have high numbers in that department and it appears their star midfielders are starting to feel the effects of missing an entire season of football.

The bad news for the Bombers is that they run into a Port Adelaide side who are moving the ball more efficiently than any side in the competition at the current time.

Port Adelaide is still $9 for the premiership and after they beat Essendon this week they host wooden spoon favourites Brisbane next week.

If you fancy the Power to win the club’s second premiership since entering the AFL then now is the time to back them and play for the long term bet with a wager on them beating the Bombers.

Robbie Gray kicked two goals last time these teams met and looks a good bet for the first and most goals.
