A game between 14th and 15th on the ladder.

The Gold Coast Suns have only ever won two games at the MCG but get a golden chance to win their third.

Hawthorn was totally dismantled by Port Adelaide last week with the Power winning by 51 points, however, the score was flattering as Port Adelaide was wasteful in front of goal and Hawthorn failed to score a single goal in the first half when the game was as good as over.

Gold Coast returned to the winners list with a brave three-point win over West Coast led by superstar Gary Ablett collecting 36 possessions, the most of any player on the field.

Ablett was a $34 chance to win a third Brownlow Medal at the start of the season.

He has come roaring into contention after some big performances; he almost certainly claimed three votes against West Coast, Geelong and North Melbourne to put himself back in the picture and he still seems juicy odds at $41 with Sportsbet and bet365.

Gold Coast has shown glimpses of brilliance this season and one of those times was against the Hawks where they won by 86 points, again Ablett was dominant collecting 36 touches and kicking two goals.

That game was played in Round 3 at Metricon Stadium and Brandon Matera produced his best game snagging six goals.

The loser of this game can book a holiday in September as they will not be playing finals footy, but for the winner, the season will be alive.

Gold Coast has a terrific month ahead of them with games against Carlton, St Kilda and North Melbourne and are still $13 to make the finals with Ladbrokes.

Hawthorn still has some proud veterans, but sadly the end has come suddenly for this great team.

The safe bet is to take the Suns with the start of 8.5 points because while we anticipate they will win the game, this option gives you a little bit of insurance if it is a nail biting finish.

Gary Ablett had a game high 36 disposals last week against West Coast and again looks a good bet in the touches markets. Take the $2 @ Sportsbet for him to have 35 or More Disposals.
