Can the Eagles bounce back with a much needed victory?

This game will prove whether West Coast are genuine contenders or pretenders because they have a tendency to beat the lower-ranked teams but fall short against the powerhouses.

The Eagles desperately need a win to stop the slide; they have lost three straight games and the noise is getting louder that they are nothing but flat track bullies.

After making the 2015 Grand Final the Eagles were sent packing in the first week of the finals last year and after a bright start to the year, have now lost three straight games and unless they turn it around they may not even play finals this year.

Geelong on the other hand are on the rise, winning three straight games and an interstate scalp here will be a huge push for their top four and even top two claims.

Geelong has an excellent recent record against West Coast having won three of their past four games.

Inspirational Geelong captain Joel Selwood has been in career best form recently, racking up a game high 35 disposals against Adelaide when the Cats played before the bye and when they defeated West Coast in Round 7 last season, he also chimed in with 35 touches.

Stick with Selwood to again find plenty of the footy and he looks a good bet for the Group A Most Disposals and to get over 27.5 with Crownbet.

This is a huge game and will go down to the wire.

The two suggested bets we are keen on is either team winning by under 15.5 points which also gives you the insurance of the draw, while the ‘any other result’ in the quarter by quarter market looks the goods. If you are unfamiliar with the latter, it is betting against either side leading at the end of every quarter.

Looking longer term Geelong has been a big firmer in flag betting with the best odds on them currently $9 (@ Luxbet) with the Eagles blowing to $21 with bet365.

When the sides met last Joel Selwood had 35 disposals and looks a good bet for most touches. We are tempted by the $3.40 @ Sportsbet for him to get 35 or More.
