Can the Suns push for a first ever finals appearance?

Both these teams come into this game on the back of huge confidence boosting victories last week. Carlton provided one of the bigger upsets of the season when toppling premiership fancies GWS by a single point.

This game though can launch the Suns into genuine contention to make the finals for the first time.

Carlton has really struggled in recent trips interstate; they have lost both games this season and went 1-5 last year.

The teams clashed at Etihad earlier in the season with Gold Coast recording a comfortable 26 point victory.

Gary Ablett led the way in that win with 34 disposals while Tom Lynch booted a game high seven goals and he again shapes as the major factor. Unibet is offering $2.50 on Lynch to kick Over 2.5 goals and Gold Coast winning which looks extremely appealing.

Blues skipper Marc Murphy was the only player they had that produced the goods that game, racking up 28 disposals and again looks a good bet to register 25 or more and maybe have a small bet at big odds on him gaining 35 disposals or more ($3.50 @ Sportsbet).

Little superstar Gary Ablett continues to firm in Brownlow Medal markets, he was $51 across the board a fortnight ago but almost certainly polled three votes against West Coast and Hawthorn and has had his price slashed to $18.

We suggest having a bet on Ablett at $18 with bet365 as the Gold Coast Suns will win plenty of games on the home straight of the season and if he is healthy he is sure to be right in contention.

Gold Coast is worth a bet at $8 to make the finals and if you want to be incredibly ambitious they are $251 to win the premiership.

The Suns ($1.40 @ Luxbet) are on the rise and after opening betting outsiders against West Coast and Hawthorn we can back them along the way.

Gary Ablett has had 36 and 37 disposals since the bye and should again gain the most disposals.
