Expect Port Adelaide to bounce back with a big win.
Last week Brisbane snapped a nine game losing streak last week when upsetting the Fremantle Dockers by 57 points while Port Adelaide was simply horrendous when losing heavily to Essendon at Etihad Stadium.
The betting markets indicate that Port will strike back this week and we agree.
The Power are total flat track bullies; they are incapable of winning against the good teams, but put on a show against the lower sides, particularly at the Adelaide Oval.
Following this theory would be proving extremely fruitful this season and should continue on Saturday night.
Brisbane has never won at the Adelaide Oval including some big losses and Port has dominated the Lions in recent times winning three straight games against them and five of the past six.
The sides met earlier this season at the GABBA in Round 6 with the Power recording a dominant 83-point victory and thumped home a score of 150. In that match they spread the goals with Robbie Gray, Charlie Dixon and Jarman Impey all booting four goals.
Brisbane were terrific against the Dockers last week recording a 57-point win. The danger is that they will be flat on the back of that big game and therefore vulnerable against a Power side who lost plenty of respect last week.
The most pleasing aspect for the Lions was the return to form from controversial NAB rising star winner Lewis Taylor who kicked four goals and had 20 possessions. Dayne Beams had a game high 36 touches and looks a good bet to again get 30 or more here ($1.30 @ Sportsbet).
Port Adelaide entered the round sitting in fifth spot and must finish in the top four if they are to push for the second premiership since entering the AFL.
If you want to invest on the Power winning the flag before this win they are $10 with TAB, Ladbrokes, Sportsbet and Crownbet.
Charlie Dixon kicked four goals when these teams met last and looks a good bet to snag the most majors.
