Have the premiers got any bite left?

In 2016 the Western Bulldogs won the premiership for their long suffering supporters while North Melbourne made the finals. This season both clubs are having their struggles and it is not unrealistic to say both won’t feature in September.

The Bulldogs have won just six games this season and North Melbourne four and the pressure will intensify on the loser here.

Both teams were awful last week. The Kangaroos lost by 17 points against St Kilda in a game that many experts described as the worst of the season, while the Bulldogs were trounced by Melbourne and only managed to score a pathetic 56 points at Etihad Stadium.

These teams played earlier this season on Good Friday with North getting out to a seemingly match-winning lead before the Bulldogs clawed them back to win by three points.

Jake Stringer has been indicative of the Bulldogs problems this season. After an amazing 2016 he has been non-existent this year and will be keen to silence his growing critics after a week of media attention for all the wrong reasons.

Stringer might be worth looking at for a bet on the first and most goals.

The best bet to kick the most goals though is exciting forward Ben Brown.

Brown is one of the most improved and exciting players in the league and kicked a game high four goals when these sides met earlier in the season.

Both teams started the season with high aspirations and if you anticipate one could launch into contention the Bulldogs are now out to $17 to go back-to-back with bet365 and Ubet. Kangaroos fans can take $251 with Crownbet and $21 at TAB/Luxbet to simply make the finals.

This game will not be pretty, we are sticking with the total game score under option as a result.

Last time these teams played the total score was just 175 and again will be low scoring.
