Can Adelaide bounce back from a shock loss?
After winning their first six games of the season the Adelaide Crows are now being questioned as a genuine premiership contender.
Since that point the Crows have come crashing back down to earth and were rolled by Hawthorn last week when paying just $1.10.
Carlton on the other hand is slowly building momentum and knocked off Richmond by 26 points last week to stop Richmond’s winning streak.
The Blues have clearly been playing well at the MCG this season having won at the ground three times and they host an Adelaide team who rarely plays at the ‘G.
The Crows are at the ground for just the second time this season and played three times last season.
A fortnight ago Carlton caused an upset by defeating Gold Coast. One of the main reasons they won that game is that they applied a heavy tag to star midfielder Gary Ablett and we anticipate they will execute a similar game plan here which will see them push the Crows.
Earlier in the season Rory Sloane was running riot, but he has been tagged out of the game the last three outings for the Crows and that has seen his form, and the form of the side, take a severe nose dive.
Sloane had 23 touches in the Round 11 loss to Geelong and opposition sides have now worked him out. He had just 14 disposals against St Kilda and 23 against the Hawks last week.
The Blues on the other hand have their midfield up and running.
Byrce Gibbs has been a ball magnet the past fortnight, racking up a game high 43 disposals against Gold Coast and then 30 against Richmond.
Adelaide showed last week that the betting markets are rating them on what they did earlier in the season and not their current form, therefore, we feel there is a good chance Carlton ($3.75 @ Luxbet) can cause the upset.
Bryce Gibbs has had the most disposals the last two Carlton games and again looks a good bet once again to notch up a heap of touches.
