Two of the surprise packets of the season do battle in a mouthwatering contest.

Port Adelaide and Richmond have surpassed expectations this season and both look primed for a return to the finals. The Power is turning the Adelaide Oval into a fortress having won four of their six games at the venue so far this season.

Richmond has struggled at the Adelaide Oval having lost their last three games at the venue.

For fans of Port Adelaide they can almost smell a finals berth after they beat Collingwood at the MCG last Saturday. Port Adelaide was always in control and comfortably recorded a 31-point win.

After some inconsistent form the past month Robbie Gray showed a return to form in a big way collecting 20 disposals and booting a game high five goals.

Richmond bounced back from a heartbreaking loss a fortnight ago against Sydney at the MCG when blowing a six-goal lead to grind out a 36-point win over Carlton.

Dustin Martin again showed why he is fancied to win the Brownlow collecting 30 disposals and as a result he is a $3.50 chance with Crownbet and TAB.

Port Adelaide has a good recent record against Richmond having won their past two games and three of their past four.

We expect the Tigers will be extremely competitive in this clash but the Power will find a way to get the win at home and continue their push towards a top four finish.

Our suggested betting strategy is to take the Power to win 1-39 ($2.08 @ Ladbrokes).

Both teams have been big firmer in premiership betting; Port Adelaide was a $41 pre-season chance and now the best odds available on them are $9 while Richmond was $81 to win their first flag since 1980 and are now a $26 chance.

Port has a big month coming up with games against West Coast, North Melbourne, Melbourne and St Kilda that will show exactly how good they are.

Dustin Martin has been a ball magnet this season including an equal game high 30 touches last week. Jump on him in the various disposals markets.
