Can the reigning premiers cause an upset and keep their season alive?
After breaking a premiership drought last season big things were expected of the Western Bulldogs again in 2017.
The Bulldogs have struggled through this season which was compounded last week when they lost at Etihad Stadium to the West Coast Eagles and they are now in serious danger of missing the finals having dropped three of their past four matches.
The champs enter the round in tenth spot and simply must cause the upset on the road to keep their season alive.
Making their task difficult is the fact they do not have a good interstate record this year having lost all four matches and have won just once at the Adelaide Oval.
Things are not going overly smoothly for the Adelaide Crows either. After winning their first six matches they got into as short as $3.25 for the premiersip but have since come back to the pack and their all-conquering midfield led by Rory Sloane appear to have been exposed.
The teams last met at Etihad Stadium in Round 7 last season with the Bulldogs winning by 15 points in a shootout where 231 points were scored.
Crows forward Josh Jenkins booted a game high eight goals in the win and will be a key for the Crows again.
Plenty of experts will be jumping off the Bulldogs after last week but after a season of upsets we anticipate there could be another one brewing with the Western Bulldogs here.
The Crows are not the same side we saw in the first six weeks of the season and in the past month the Crows were comprehensively beaten by Geelong, lost to Hawthorn and fell in last week against competition strugglers Carlton.
The Line (+23.5) on the Bulldogs looks attractive and it is worth having something on them getting the win.
The Bulldogs are now $2.35 to make the finals and $31 to go on and win the premiership.
When these teams played last 231 points were scored so we are keen on the total game score going over 171.5 ($1.91 @ bet365).
