Are the Lions capable of causing another big upset?

Both these sides come into this game on the back of brave performances last week. Geelong managed to secure a draw against premiership favourite Greater Western Sydney on the road and without inspirational skipper Joel Selwood who was rested following a horrible head clash a fortnight ago against Fremantle.

Brisbane caused one of the biggest upsets in years when topping Essendon at Etihad Stadium.

The Lions went into the match an overwhelming 47.5 point underdog before saluting and the market is again ignoring them this week against the Cats.

This is a danger game for Geelong, however, we anticipate they will have too much class for Brisbane and push for their top four chances with a win.

Geelong has a strong recent record against Brisbane having won their past six matches against the Lions, the most recent was a comprehensive 60-point win at the GABBA in Round 22 last season.

Patrick Dangerfield was instrumental in that game and the Brownlow Medal favourite will again provide plenty of headaches for Brisbane.

Unibet is offering $1.80 on the Cats winning and Dangerfield having over 29.5 which simply should be a winning bet. Dangerfield had 28 touches and kicked two goals and four behinds in the win and caught the umpire’s eye.

After being premiership favourites for most of the 2017 season the Cats now have the team to go better than last year where they bombed out in the Preliminary Final.

If Geelong could squeak past Adelaide or GWS and finish in the top two at the end of the home and away season they could well start the finals series as flag favourite, so if you have not bet on them yet, we suggest stepping into the $7 still available with Ubet and Sportsbet.

In what could be a banana peel game for the Cats we are sticking with them to win by Under 39.5 points.

Steven Motlop kicked a game high give goals when these sides last met. Get on him to rack up a few majors at the very least.
