This game shapes as a mini final at Etihad Stadium.

St Kilda must win if they are going to return to the finals in 2017 while the Tigers need a win if they are to secure their first top four berth since 2001.

Both teams come into this match in terrific form with the Saints having won three in a row while Richmond has won two in succession and four of their past five.

Both St Kilda and Richmond caused upset wins interstate last week with the Saints breaking a hoodoo in Perth to run over the top of the Fremantle Dockers by nine points. Meanwhile Richmond took a big step towards proving that they are the real deal by beating Port Adelaide by 13 points at the Adelaide Oval.

St Kilda ball magnet Seb Ross continues to show why he is regarded as the most improved player in the competition, once again collecting the most disposals with a game high 34.

The Tigers do look a class above the Saints though.

St Kilda has struggled to score this season and their underachieving forwards will be held out by superstar defenders Alex Rance and Dylan Grimes.

From there the Tigers will set up a base to restrict to St Kilda and with more X-factor throughout the midfield they should carry on their winning ways.

We have Dustin Martin currently leading the Brownlow Medal count and if you have not had a bet on the heavily tattooed tiger yet, then we suggest you snap up the $3 @ TAB before his price is slashed following another big game.

Supporters of both sides are getting excited about how far they can go this year and Richmond has tumbled into $11 for the premiership after starting the season $81 while the Saints are currently $51 and $2.20 to make the finals.

Seb Ross had a game high 34 disposals last week against Fremantle and should again have the most touches.
