Can the Dees book a finals berth with a crucial win?

No club is dividing footballing opinion like the Adelaide Crows. They are sitting pretty on top of the table but with every win there seems to be more and more people trying to pick holes in them.

Adelaide was playing scintillating footy to start the season and won their first six matches and after a few mid-season hiccups, they now look to be back in town.

The Crows have now won back-to-back matches and three of their past four and get their chance to carry on their winning ways against a Melbourne side which is heavily depleted.

Melbourne enters the round in fifth place which is a remarkable effort considering the bad luck they have had throughout the year with injury.

Few experts give Melbourne a chance of beating Adelaide but that was also the case before the sides met at the Adelaide Oval in Round 8. That night Melbourne won by 41 points with some brilliant individual performances from the Demons midfield.

Clayton Oliver collected 30 disposals and kicked one of the goals of the season while Jack Viney was instrumental with a vital goal and 30 touches.

The Demons stopped the Crows scoring that night with the Crows held to just 66 points and again Rory Sloane couldn’t handle a heavy tag and was held to a season low 11 disposals.

If the Demons can nullify the Adelaide scoring then they will again find themselves right in this game. Factoring in injuries, the bet type we are leaning towards is Adelaide winning by Under 40 points.

Melbourne has been brave all season, but it is hard to see them beating Adelaide with so many injuries, however, the Dees continue to surprise and if they can spring an upset here who knows how far they can go in season 2017.

Matt Crouch had a game high 32 disposals last week and looks a good bet to gain the most.
