A top of the table clash to start Round 18.
Two of the best sides in the competition will do battle here with the winner likely to shoot to the top of premiership markets.
After a quiet month the Adelaide Crows have shown ascendency again in the past few weeks and can take a huge step towards a top-two finish with a win.
The Crows come into this game having won three straight matches and four of their last five with Geelong undefeated in their past four games.
These sides clashed in Round 11 at Simonds Stadium and that night the Cats proved why they are genuine flag contenders. In that win the Cats star midfielders were unstoppable and again look to be the difference between the two sides.
Joel Selwood had a game high 35 disposals and slotted a goal while Patrick Dangerfield took the game away from his former side with 31 disposals and three goals.
Geelong is building to an assault towards September and have an excellent recent record against Adelaide having won their past five games against the Crows and look good odds ($2.65 @ Luxbet, Will Hill and Unibet) to cause the upset to start the weekend.
The Crows are likely to be without key midfielder Rory Sloane for the match which will be a big loss.
Sloane is not only a key possession winner for the Crows, he always attracts the best defensive midfielder and equally as importantly he is one of the competition’s leading tacklers.
His loss could not come at a worse time as it will enable to Selwood to win the ball and give it to the running midfielders, particularly Dangerfield.
As a result we are particularly keen on both Selwood and Dangerfield collecting 30 possessions or more.
This could be the last time that black figures are available for Dangerfield for the Browlow so snap it up whilst you can.
Patrick Dangerfield had 31 disposals when these sides met last and looks a good bet to record the most.
