The Eagles must win to keep their finals chances alive.

This season has been a disaster for Collingwood which gives the West Coast every chance of scoring a vital win on the road.

Nathan Buckley’s men have finished in a worse position each season since he took charge and enter the Round in 14th spot on the ladder and realistically out of finals contention.

The Pies worked hard for a win last week against Gold Coast, but lost skipper Scott Pendlebury to injury from that game and look set for a big loss against the Eagles.

West Coast Eagles entered the season one of the main premiership fancies and after a disappointing season now find themselves in a dog fight to simply make the finals.

The Eagles prevailed against Fremantle last week in an awful game with the highlight the return to the side of dual Coleman Medalist Josh Kennedy, who slotted a game high three goals including the first goal of the game.

It is well documented the Eagles struggle in Victoria, however, they do have a good record at Etihad Stadium this season having won two of their three matches at the venue including an impressive seven-point upset win over the reigning premiers the Western Bulldogs in Round 15.

In that game Andrew Gaff had a game high 42 disposals and he again found plenty of the footy last week against Fremantle, collecting a game high 35 touches.

The Eagles look a rock solid bet to win the match and we are pleasantly surprised by the current odds of $1.68 at Luxbet.

If you anticipate the Eagles can have a late season resurgence, they are $1.57 at Will Hill to finish Top 8 which looks an extremely attractive price considering they should beat Collingwood and then have games coming up against Brisbane at home, St Kilda, Carlton at home before a tough fortnight to end the season with matches against GWS and Adelaide.

The Eagles are now $26 across the board to win the flag.

Andrew Gaff had 42 disposals the last time West Coast played at Etihad and looks a good bet to gain the most.
