The Giants need a confidence boosting victory
Greater Western Sydney are having a horrid run and need to turn things around starting this week if they are going to be a force in September and potentially reach an AFL Grand Final for the first time.
The Giants have won just one match since Round 11 and that was against the Brisbane Lions who are sitting on the bottom of the ladder.
It is clear that the Giants have all the talent in the world, but are extremely vulnerable when pressure is applied or the conditions are less than ideal.
A win over Fremantle would do little to silence the critics around GWS but more importantly for them it should be a big step towards securing a top four finish as they push towards the top two.
A disappointing season for Fremantle has been even worse away from home.
The Dockers are yet to win a game outside of Western Australia and Victoria this year and were belted by 92 points when these sides last met at Spotless Stadium. The Giants tall timber ran riot in this fixture combining for nine goals.
Jonathon Patton booted a game high six goals with Jeremy Cameron chiming in with three.
Those two big forwards again look to be set for a big day with plenty of goal scoring opportunities.
As disappointing as the Giants have been in the past month they are still well positioned for a tilt at the premiership.
They will comfortably beat Fremantle in this fixture and then have a home game against Melbourne, a clash with the out of form Western Bulldogs, a home game against the disappointing West Coast Eagles and then a vital clash against Geelong.
Winning four of those give games should secure a top two finish and therefore the current premiership price is worth a bet.
More immediately bet up on GWS winning this by a big margin.
Jonathon Patton kicked a game high six goals when these teams met last and should again kick the most.
