The Lions deserve another victory and should get one.

Brisbane started the season a warm favourite to claim the wooden spoon while the Gold Coast Suns were widely tipped to make the finals for the first time.

The teams met in Round 1 and the Lions caused a big upset by winning by two points. This week the Suns have hit rock bottom having sacked coach Rodney Eade during the week off the back of losing five straight matches and seven of their past eight.

When the sides met earlier in the season Tom Rockliff led the way collecting a game high 37 disposals while Suns Brownlow Medalist Gary Ablett had 28 disposals but the dysfunctional spirit in the Suns is adamant by how clearly reluctant the Suns players were to give Ablett the ball last week.

Brisbane is a young side who has made giant strides this season and have a great opportunity to take themselves off the bottom of the ladder with a strong finish to the season. We are tipping that they will beat the Suns this week and then host North Melbourne in the final home and away game of the season.

The Lions midfield is running hard and looks spirited with silky midfielder Daniel Rich playing the best footy that he has produced since his rookie season where he won the NAB rising star. Dayne Beams continues to show why he is considered to be in the competition’s elite including a recent 41 disposal performance.

The Gold Coast Suns have done nothing but disappoint since entering the AFL. They have no team spirit or thirst for the contest.

While the Brisbane Lions aren’t the most skilled team in the league, you cannot doubt their endeavor and desire to work hard for each other and the team.

The Lions will have too much heart and find a way to manufacture a win.

Dayne Beams had 41 disposals against West Coast a fortnight ago and we are banking on him gaming the most.
