The loser of this gets the wooden spoon.

North Melbourne has had a disastrous season. After making the finals last season and sitting on top of the table at the midway stage of 2016, the disappointing Kangaroos enter the round having lost three straight games and 10 of their last 11.

While North Melbourne does boast an excellent recent record against Brisbane having won three straight games against them, the Lions are a team who have made tremendous improvement this season and unlike North Melbourne appear hungry for success and wins late in the year.

Dayne Beams was outstanding last week against Melbourne.

The former Collingwood premiership player racked up a game high 33 disposals and booted three goals in the 15-point defeat to Melbourne last Sunday.

Beams is one of the stars of the competition and along with Dayne Zorko, who also produced a solid game against the Dees, the duo can lead the Lions to a win in this game and a big 2018.

The Lions last beat North Melbourne in Round 15 back in 2014 but are a team on the rise and they will break that drought here and enter 2018 feeling good about their future.

Both these teams have been involved in very high scoring games recently. There were 224 points scored when the Lions last played at the GABBA a fortnight ago and 195 in their clash with Melbourne last week.

It has been a similar story for the Kangaroos with 205 points scored in their clash with Hawthorn a fortnight ago and 205 in their clash with St Kilda last Sunday.

We are keen on the Lions winning but the other suggested bet is the Total Game Score Over 2005 ($1.90 @ Unibet).

STATS BET
