The Bombers will secure a finals berth with a win.

After a few years from hell the Essendon Football club will beat Fremantle and return to the AFL finals. The Bombers have had a yoyo season but have shown at their best they are capable of beating anybody.

Essendon were workmanlike last week when defeating the struggling Gold Coast Suns by 33 points. They enter the weekend in eighth spot and mathematically cannot miss the top eight with a win.

Fremantle has lost by 104 points their last two weeks and has completely waved the white flag as the end of the season approaches. The Dockers look lost across the park and aren’t playing like a team that is fighting tooth and nail in contests that doesn’t affect them.

Star forward Joe Daniher has had a quiet two weeks booting just two goals against Adelaide and one goal last week against the Suns but is still in the hunt to win the Coleman Medal. He enters the final round just four goals behind Josh Kennedy.

The Bombers play before the Eagles so Daniher will get his chance to put himself in the hunt with a big bag and the $8 on him winning the medal looks over the odds, even if he finishes with the equal most goals that would pay out as a $4 winner.

The sides met earlier in the season in Round 7 at Domain Stadium with Fremantle winning by 37 points.

Lachie Neale had a game high 40 disposals and kicked a goal and will be a welcome addition to the Dockers midfield after missing last week against Richmond, but his inclusion will do little to salvage the Dockers from another hefty defeat.

Essendon will win this game by a big margin. They look a risk free anchor for your Sunday multi bets and do not be afraid to bet them winning by 40 points or more ($1.73 @ bet365).

Joe Daniher is just four goals off the lead in the Coleman Medal and looks primed to kick a bag.
