The Sydney Swans looked look primed to continue on their winnings streak.

Both sides come into this game in contrasting style with the Swans carrying on their incredible form and the Cats in danger of going crashing out of the finals after finishing the season in second spot on the ladder.

Every statistic points to the Swans winning this clash and setting up a mouthwatering Preliminary Final against the Adelaide Crows.

The Swans come into the match having won five straight matches and 12 of their last 13. Sydney has an excellent recent record against Geelong having beaten them in their past three meetings and in five of their past six.

The two most recent clashes between the two sides were the 2016 Preliminary Final which the Swans won by 37 points and more recently when the teams met at the Cats home ground of Simmonds Stadium in Round 20.

Despite missing star midfielder Josh Kennedy through injury and season leading goal kicker Lance Franklin managing just one goal, the Swans beat Geelong by 46 points.

Last week the Swans flexed some serious muscle dismantling Essendon by 65 points while Geelong was simply non-competitive against Richmond eventually losing by 51 points in a scoreline that flattered the Cats.

Most of the Football world expected the Swans to be strong in the finals but it was the Cats that disappointed and once against showed that they are a strong side throughout the home and away season against lower sides, but do not have the physical application that is required to win finals.

The strong early money has been for the Swans ($1.36 @ Sportsbet) and we anticipate that they will win and win well.

Looking longer term if you are not on Sydney for the premiership we suggest you snap up the $4.60 with bet365.

If Sydney defeat Adelaide next week they will be favourite in the Grand Final.

Patrick Dangerfield had an equal game high 31 disposals last week against Richmond and looks a good bet to get 30 ore again in this game.
