Summary: The 2017 premiers were on track for back-to-back flags until they ran into a rampant Collingwood outfit on preliminary final night at the MCG. Previous to that, Richmond had won 22 straight games at the home of footy and were undefeated in Victoria all season.

The Tigers landed the prize recruit of the off-season in former Sun Tom Lynch and only adds to the potency of Richmond’s already star studded forward line. The players they have lost were only fringe players at best and the addition of Lynch gives defences a big headache with two genuine Coleman Medal contenders starting inside their attacking 50.

They rightly head into this season as the premiership favourites and will once again have the luxury of playing the majority of their matches at the MCG. It’s hard not see them winning a similar number of matches as last season, which makes us very bullish about the over 15.5 wins.

Key stat: Richmond ranked #2 for offence (95.7 ppg) and defence (72.3 ppg) in 2018. Richmond were 18-1 W/L in Victoria in 2018. There only loss was the preliminary final against Collingwood.
