St Kilda Saints 2019 AFL Season Preview & Analysis
The only way is up for the Saints who had a dismal 2018 which saw them only win four games after being touted as a genuine finals contender. Can they live up to those expectations in 2019?
St Kilda Saints

Draft Picks: Max King (#4) Jack Bytel (#41) Matthew Parker (#47) Nick Hind (#54) Robert Young (#67)
Key outs: Tom Hickey (West Coast) Maverick Weller (Richmond) Darren Minchington (Hawthorn) Hugh Goddard (Carlton) Koby Stevens (retired) Nathan Freeman (delisted) Nathan Wright (delisted)

Playing AFLX: Jack Billings (Bolts) Tim Membrey (Rampage) Jack Steele (Bolts) jade Gresham (Deadly)
Summary: Alan Richardson is under an enormous amount of pressure for his team to perform, but it’s hard to see where the improvement will come from this season. The Saints bottomed out last season after narrowly missing September in 2017, recording their worst season since 2014. They have added some much needed midfield depth with the recruitment of Dan Hannebery who’s had his best preseason in years and will be a big barometer for the Saints this season. We still think 2019 is going to be a struggle for the Saints and the under 7.5 looks a solid bet.
Key stat: The Saints haven’t played finals in seven seasons, the third longest active drought in the league.
