West Coast v Melbourne - Optus Stadium - 8:10pm

Returning to the site of last year’s preliminary final humiliation, Melbourne will take on West Coast at Optus Stadium on Friday night.

Not much has gone right for the Demons since that 66-point loss, with injuries and bad form relegating them to a 3-5 record in 2019. That mark could have been even worse if not for some late heroics which saw them come from six points down in the final 40 seconds and come out victorious at Metricon Stadium against the Suns.

Elsewhere, West Coast moved back inside the top eight by overcoming St Kilda by 18-points behind Andrew Gaff’s fifth 30-plus-disposal performance in six appearances this season. Gaff notably did not take part in the last meeting between these sides, however, looks set to be one of only four changes to West Coast’s lineup from that day. Comparatively, Melbourne may be missing up to 11 of the 22 who played in that fixture, demonstrating the depth of its injury crisis.

Key stat: The underdog has covered the line in five of the last six matches at Optus Stadium.
