Sydney v Collingwood - SCG - 7:50pm

For the 7th consecutive season, the Swans will host a home match against the Magpies and coming off back-to-back wins, they will be confident of kicking off Sir Douglas Nicholls Round with an upset win. On the other hand, the Magpies are riding a six-game winning streak and sit 2nd on the ladder, a game behind the Cats and a game clear of the 3rd placed Giants, which has last year’s Grand Finalists perfectly placed for another deep finals push.

For the Swans to keep theirs alive, they must defeat the Pies and pull off another upset victory after their consecutive 77-72 victories. The Swans have won just six of their last 16 home matches over the last two seasons, while the Pies are one of the best travelling teams in the competition having won five of their past seven trips interstate and covering the line in four of their last five against the Swans.

Lance Franklin will again be touch and go to return from a hamstring injury but the Swans will regain co-captain Josh Kennedy who has a late withdrawal last week. Collingwood could welcome back Darcey Moore and Jordan De Goey who both missed the victory against the Saints, while Taylor Adams could be rushed back in to replace the suspended Travis Varcoe.

Key Stat: Collingwood has an 8-2 line record as an away team in night matches from 2018 onwards.
